Cheerleaders prepare for State

All-Region Band

Karen Alonso,Zane Holland, Melanie BarajasThree members of the Mighty Tiger Band recently qualified for the All-Region Band. They will participate in clinics and perform in a concert planned for January 24 and 25.

TEA requires needs assessment

The Texas Education Agency has required the Mount Vernon Elementary School to prepare a needs assessment after the campus scored a “D” on accountability ratings from the 2018-19 school year.

Funds reported missing from MVISD Band Booster account

An inconsistency in funds in the Band Boosters account was brought to the attention of Mount Vernon ISD Band Director Barry Tagg and then Superintendent Jason McCullough last week.

District Champions

Mount Vernon Middle School One Act Play GroupFor the third year in a row, the Mount Vernon Middle School One Act Play won the District Championship at the competition Friday, December 6.

Four States Honor Band

Audra Larsen, Daniel Vargas, Karen Alonso, Melanie Barajas, Zane HollandFive members of the Mighty Tiger Band recently qualified for the Four States Honor Band. The will participate in clinics and perform in a concert planned for Jan. 16, 17, and 18 at Texas High School in Texarkana.

Student Christmas production set

Theatre students from Mount Vernon High School will present the play The Best Christmas Pageant Ever to the public at the district’s auditorium at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 15.
