One-time COVID-19 payment approved by school board

A one-time $500 payment to all Mount Vernon ISD employees for their extra work and effort due to the COVID-19 pandemic was approved by school board members during the Thursday, February 11 meeting.

“We want to honor all of our employees for everything they have had to do during this pandemic,” Superintendent Jason McCullough said. “Everyone from teachers to cafeteria, to maintenance crew have stepped up to make sure our kids have been able to have face-to-face school.” The payment will be included in the March payroll.
