Harold W. Hahn of El Paso was reappointed and named chair of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) Friday, Sept. 13, 2013. Robert “Bobby” Jenkins Jr. of Austin was named vice chair, and Christopher Huckabee of Fort Worth was reappointed to the board.

Three new members were appointed to the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas Oversight Committee by Gov. Rick Perry Thursday, Sept. 26. $3 Million Grant Awarded to Create
Center for Cell and Organ Biotechnology
Texas Emerging Technology Fund (TETF) will provide a $3 million grant to create the Center for Cell and Organ Biotechnology. The grant is an investment in collaboration with the Texas Heart Institute (THI) and Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Jodie Baggett of Ozona and Katie Stavinoha of The Woodlands were appointed to the Texas Lottery Commission by Gov. Rick Perry Monday, Sept. 16. The commission oversees the Texas Lottery, and ensures lottery and bingo games are conducted in a legal and fair manner.
