Clint Hopkins

Clint HopkinsClinton Euthayne Hopkins passed away at home on Friday, March 20, 2020, after a lengthy illness.

He was born on July 7, 1941, in Bryan, Tex., to Max and Lopez Hopkins. He was married to Kaye Hicks on Dec. 8, 1968, in Houston, Tex., at Ellington Air Force Base. Clint retired from employment with the federal Government January 1997, after serving at seven different locations in the Procurement/Contracting field. His last place of worship was North Hamilton church of Christ, Soddy Daisy, Tenn., but he worshiped at Mount Vernon church of Christ for over 20 years. He also served as the Veterans’ Service Officer for Franklin County for eight years.
Mr. Hopkins was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Kaye Hicks Hopkins and two children, Brenda H. Leslie (Tommy) of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Edward L. Hopkins of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., His surviving grandchildren are Amanda G. Leslie of Chattanooga; Timothy A. Leslie (Rachel) of Colorado Springs, Co., Clinton E. M. Hopkins of Soddy Daisy, Joseph M. Hopkins, and Mason L. Hopkins of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. He also has two grandchildren of the heart, Melissa Knight of Bells, Tenn., and Traci Banks of Graham, Tex., plus five great-grandchildren in heart. Mr. Hopkins is also survived by his siblings, Donna Petree of College Station, Tex., Janis Schweers of Sugarland, Tex., and Rex Hopkins (Blanca) of Liberty Hill, Tex.
Burial plans have been delayed due to the COVID 19 virus and will occur on Sept. 12, 2020. in Marietta, Okla. In lieu of flowers, any memorial donations should be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
