Zane Stovall

Zane StovallGraveside services for Leland Zane Stovall, age 86 of Big Spring, and formerly of Saltillo, were on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020, at Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock, Tex.

Mr. Stovall was born on Sept. 6, 1933, in Wichita Falls, Tex., to Leland Vane and Pauline Marie (Shirey) Stovall. He graduated from Saltillo High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Clara “Bunny” Yuvonne Griffith, on June 14, 1953, in Idalou, and was drafted as a newlywed into the Army.
He learned surveying in the service and worked as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Texas and remained in that profession until his retirement from Lone Star Gas in 1997.
His first wife, Bunny, died in 1998. He then married Vonda Mae Gregory and they resided in Idalou until she died in 2016.
He died on July 28, 2020.He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Tom Karges, a son and daughter-in-law Shawn and Jan Stovall, his sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Stan Scoman, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an Alzheimer’s or Dementia Association of choice.
