Tigers defeat Chapel Hill

Denaesjah Wickware competed at the Girls State PowerliftingDenaesjah Wickware competed at the Girls State Powerlifting meet in Waco March 15. She did not place, but Coach Greg Gamblin was proud of her accomplishment of qualifying for State in her first year to be a lifter.

Christian Chamness (center) qualified for the State Powerlifting meetChristian Chamness qualified for the State Powerlifting meet in the 275 pound division after grabbing first place at the Regional meet and setting a new deadlift record at 655 pounds this week.

Boys golf takes second

The Mount Vernon High School golf teams competed at the Sulphur Bluff tournament Monday, March 18 in Sulphur Springs with the boys finishing in second place out of 12 teams.

Tigers blank Como, compete at Edgewood tournament

The Mount Vernon Tigers baseball team blanked Como-Pickton 9-0 Tuesday, March 5. The Tigers nailed the win in the first inning with Carson Collvins, Braden Bolin, Max Rutledge, Jacob Marshall, Daniel Arnold, and Trey Honea each having RBIs in the big inning.
