Tiger power lifters headed to Region

Several Tiger and Lady Tiger power lifters from Mount Vernon High School competed have earned the right to advance to their respective Regional meets on Friday and Saturday, March 6 and 7. For a listing of individuals advancing, see the March 5 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.

Golf wins tournament

Mount Vernon opened their season Tuesday February 25 against Gladewater. Max Rutledge, Trey Honea, and Jacob Marshall each took a turn pitching for the Tigers.

Quinton Johnson lifted 585 pounds during the squat lift at the Commerce meet.Quinton Johnson lifted 585 pounds during the squat lift at the Commerce meet. The girls team finished in third place out of 28 teams.
