The game was a tough defensive battle, but the Mount Vernon Tigers football team came out on top defeating the Mineola Yellowjackets for the second time this year to claim the title. The Tigers are advancing to the State Quarterfinal game for the first time since 1977. For details from the Regional game, see the December 3 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
